Moon Rock
In the history of Iran, there have been many capable women, which can be found with a small amount of patience and effort. In this modern novel we look into the life of “Mahsati Ganjavi” the founder of a new type of quatrain.
She lived during the time of the Seljuk empire and reached the rank of secretary in the Saljukian empire. She was one of the first Iranians whose writings show signs of realism.
Her poems are filled with life and happiness and instead of pointless flattering they are mostly about simple everyday people. Her eventful life is tied to “Amir Ahmad Tajuddin” and their love stories…
A reader’s review:
We normal people have normal lives. The normal events of our lives, however unpredictable they may seem they’re still rather normal. The story’s so called hero goes on a journey in a hidden ancient cave located in Guilan in order to meet a very famous author. Upon finding the cave, a vast world of the old times opens up to him in the middle of this modern world. A library filled with writings that people of the past piled up there to hide them from the harms of time.
The story of Mahasti unfolds in between the main story. This second part of the story is written much like the fifth century way of storytelling, mixed with poems of Mahasti, it’s as if Mahasti herself wrote this part of the story. The culturalism and the culture that’s in the Author’s mind, makes the reader seek a higher plane of understanding from the world. Having this book in the list of the amazing works of the “Toos” work publication whose now part of Iran’s contemporary culture only excites us want to read it and recommend it to our friends.
